Mid Life Cycles Annual Trip to Jefferson, Texas
Mid Life Cycles returns to Jefferson, Texas in 2008 on the weekend of Oct. 31 - Nov. 2. We will leave Houston Friday morning, returning Sunday. We hope to be in Jefferson prior to sundown. Route has not been determined yet. 
We will be staying at the Inn of Jefferson. There are 10 rooms blocked out for Mid Life Cycles and I would recommend making your reservations for one of these rooms asap, since Jefferson is one busy place during Halloween. Call the Inn of Jefferson between the hours of 7am - 3pm and ask to speak to Jessica. The contact number is 903-665-3983. Let her know you are with Mid Life Cycles and you will get the $65 rate plus tax.
Activities for Friday evening are being considered at this time. Saturday we are scheduled at 10am for a tour of The Grove, a historic haunted home owned by a high school friend of mine. http://www.thegrove-jefferson.com/. Some of you may have toured this home with us before. I have had folks requesting a return visit, so we are penciled in with Mitch and Tami.
For those that have never made this trip with us, we will have fun in Jefferson, but the other reason we make this trip is to sample home made candies, cakes, pies, and a host of other things at my mom's bake shop. She will be having her annual open house on Saturday, Nov. 1. So, after we tour The Grove, we will make tracks for Hooks, Texas for The Little Bake Shoppe. You can sample to your hearts content. While mom takes care of our appetites, dad usually has the games set up in the back yard for us to compete. Or, you can catch a chair and sit and relax, catch a nap, or encourage the gamers as they play. Once mom closes shop, we will mount up and head for Avinger, Texas to the 5D Steak House. You won't be disappointed.
