Live to ride. Ride to eat.

About Us:

Mid-Life Cycles is a group of friends living in and around Houston Texas, who happen to have some things in common - one being motorcycles. Our love for riding brought us together, making the relationships with our friends and bikes even more meaningful. We travel near and far, enjoying great friends, beautiful sights and fun times.

Mid Life Cycles Goes to Leakey, Texas

July 13th MLC will be making tracks for the Texas Hill Country as we overnight in Leakey, Texas on Friday the 13th and Saturday the 14th, returning home on the 15th. We will meet at the IHOP at 16530 Southwest Freeway, Sugarland, Texas. It is located on Hwy 59 just past Hwy 6. We will meet there for breakfast at 7am, with Kick Stands up at 8am.

( For those on the South side of Houston, we will meet at the Shell Station in Alvin at FM 528 & Hwy 35 at 6am with Kick Stands up at 6:15am to head over to the IHOP together.)

We will then mount up and head just south of Austin for Driftwood, Texas for the Salt Lick BBQ Restaurant for lunch. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm. After lunch, we will take back roads here and there, winding our way down to Leakey.

We will be staying at The D' Rose Inn & Cabins. You can check out the website at http://www.droseinn.com/ . There are 2 cabins open, call quick and make your reservation now. We will enjoy a nice ride out to Leakey, stopping along the way for lunch. We will try to ride mostly back roads and many roads that we enjoy riding in this part of the state. We will plan on grilling burgers for dinner later on at D'Rose Inn under the pavillion. DEAD LINE FOR RESERVING YOUR BURGER IS NOON - JULY 11th! Please email me at midlifecycles2@aol.com to let me know how many burgers you and your guest/s will need. Otherwise, you will be on your own for dinner.
Saturday is an open day, with some folks riding the Three Sisters and other nice roads and others opting to take in the other attractions of the area, such as Garner State Park for hiking, tubing and swimming in the nice cool Frio River. We will grab dinner Saturday night, and for entertainment John Conlee is playing at the House Pasture Restaurant , House Pasture Cattle Co Menu, John Conlee The Official John Conlee Web Site, or there is the Texas tradition of the Dance at the Garner State Park Pavillion. Every night of the summer, all the campers and locals get together to dance underneath the stars at the historic Garner Pavilion. This tradition has been going on for over 50 years. The dance brings out the young and the young at heart. If you love to 2-step or want to learn, this is the place to be. The dance goes from sunset to 11:00 PM every night. You can dance under the stars to the songs of Texas favorites like George Strait or Garner classics such as Blackland Farmer and Smokey Mountain Memories. Or, you can head back to The D' Rose Inn and hang out till you decide to lay those bones down for some rest before returning home on Sunday. Looking forward to the Hill Country Ride for 2007.
